I am working
on implementing a litigation system using off the shelf software, that incorporates the below principles. If you have access
to funding and are interested in implementing a computerized solution to the courtroom, please contact me at ken@sortedahl.net.
General
Concepts:
Stem leaf as an organizational
system. (stop looking at data through a keyhole, get the big picture at a glance)
Smallest meaningful piece of information. (reduce the case to workeable pieces)
Smallest meaningful set of facts. (Limit information horizon to only what is necessary)
Templates to Modules. (stop
re-doing work, let the organization's all stars shine)
Indexing. (search case by keyword, but also use the stem leaf concept)
Pyramid building. (each time a file is used it advances toward settlement/verdict,
do not waste work)
Computers allow
essentially free copying and free storage of information.
See multiple facets of the case at the same time.
